There are times in your life when you aspire to ‘live the dream’… and then there are times when you realize you actually are. It does, of course, depend on your dream and some are more magnificent than others!
I think I have always hankered after a bit of ‘variety’, it being the spice of life an all that. My job certainly delivers this… in spades. This week has taken me to Walhampton where I have been working with the pupils to create something really special for the end of term. I have also been at the very beautiful Buckland Manor just on the outskirts of Lymington, gathering images for a new ‘location’ website.
The weekend was awash with weddings and I was privileged to be up close (but not personal) at some hugely emotional family celebrations. There is something very heartening about seeing families come together and unite and it does make you pause for thought.
On Saturday morning, I was up bright and early to photograph 5 cast members from Hollyoaks. Cameron Moore, Mandip Gill, Charlie Clapham, Nikki Sanderson and Jorgie Porter had all come to Lymington to participate in a Boot Camp at Shape Up Studios as part of a fundraising initiative for Forca 14 a local charity that supports people living with cancer in the community.
I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect and I only had a limited window of time! I was absolutely blown away by their collective spirit, their amenability and their desire to work as hard for Forca 14 as they could. Naturally I asked for the ‘my kids will be thrilled’ (ahem) selfie. Sadly I can’t upload it as I look like a proud father!
